We believe that there is only one way to being saved, or forgiven, of our sins, and that is by repenting of our sins and receiving the Lord Jesus Christ as our personal Savior. Heaven is a gift from God and not acquired through any means apart from Christ. When a person receives salvation through faith in Christ, that person is saved for all eternity and shall not perish.
We receive candidates for membership through Statement of Faith, those who have accepted Jesus as Savior and have been scripturally baptized by immersion in water by a church of like faith and order. Candidates are also received though a Letter of Transfer of membership from a church of like faith and order.
Candidates who desire to unite with Spring Valley M.B.C. must be voted on and accepted by the congregation into its membership.
From the beginning of creation, God placed in the Garden a man named Adam and a woman named Eve that they would come together with the blessings of God to multiply and replenish the earth; therefore, we believe that marriage is exactly what God said it should be, a marriage exclusively between one man and one woman.

We believe God designates each individual their gender. God ordained two genders, male and female. Mankind does not possess the authority to identify themselves differently than their biological sex assigned by God, and any attempt to alter one's gender is sin.
